In this course, we will define what archaeology is and how the great discoveries of the past shaped it, spanning from Prehistory (Lascaux caves, Ötzi the Iceman) to the Greek and Roman period (Troy, Mycenae, Athens, Pompeii, and more). We will examine the Mediterranean civilizations (Egyptians, Etruscans, Greeks, and Romans), but we will also explore other peoples such as Assyrians and Babylonians.
