Group Descriptions

This group is for female identified students who have self-identified trauma or adverse childhood experiences (i.e., sexual assault, childhood trauma, bullying, etc.).  Weekly resistance training sessions are combined with body-based trauma therapy.

In this group you will:

  •     Learn ways to manage your symptoms of trauma, anxiety and/or depression
  •     Build physical and emotional/mental strength
  •     Connect with others who may have experienced something similar
  •     Become familiar with the Athletics & Recreation Complex (ARC)

This therapeutic support space is rooted in the belief that we discover Self through community and community in Self.  This space is held by and for gender diverse folx - trans, non-binary, agender, bigender, genderfluid, questioning and more.

Facilitated by a nonbinary therapist passionate about trans liberation and healing grounded in joy and connection, this group blends collective care with personal empowerment.  Through laughter and tears, breath and movement, story sharing and conversation, we explore the rich terrain of the unfolding of Self, community witnessing, ritual and art.

We hold space for it all - the scared, the silly, the soft, the sharp.  This is a place where students do not have to explain their existence.  It is already honoured here.

Come as you are.  Stay as you become.

F25 dates/times: Sept 24, Oct 8 and 22, Nov 5 and 19, Dec 3 and 17 from 4:30-6:30pm

Queer scribbles is more than a therapeutic writing group - it is a gathering of poets, scribblers, feelers, storytellers and lamenters. Together, we write toward freedom. Using creating writing and images as tools for liberation, identity reclamation and soup expression, this space invites students to explore their inner landscapes through the written word.

With themed prompts rooted in elements, queerness, community and creating healing, each session becomes a journey of self-discovery.  We honour silence and sharing, solitude and solidarity.  No writing experience needed.
